ADHD Assessment & Treatment in Virginia Beach | Leva Psychiatry

Comprehensive ADHD Assessment & Treatment for Children, Adolescents, and Adults

Evidence-based psychiatric evaluations providing diagnostic clarity and individualized treatment recommendations.

We do not rely on brief questionnaires or one-size-fits-all assessments. Our ADHD evaluations are designed to carefully assess symptoms across settings and over time, using comprehensive clinical interviews, detailed history review, and validated assessment measures when appropriate. This approach allows us to provide accurate diagnosis, meaningful diagnostic clarity, and treatment recommendations without rushing the process or over-simplifying complex presentations.

Our ADHD Evaluations Include

Our evaluations are tailored to the developmental stage and clinical needs of children, adolescents, and adults and may include:

  • Comprehensive psychiatric evaluation
  • Clinical interviews and history review
  • Diagnostic clarification and differential diagnosis
  • Treatment recommendations tailored to your needs
  • Ongoing medication management when appropriate
For Pediatric Clients

For pediatric and adolescent evaluations, we use a gold-standard behavioral rating system completed by parents and/or teachers. This assessment helps screen for:

  • ADHD (inattentive, hyperactive/impulsive, combined type)
  • Oppositional Defiant Disorder (ODD)
  • Anxiety, depression, and emotional dysregulation
  • Peer issues, social skills deficits
  • Executive functioning weaknesses
  • Internalizing symptoms and somatic complaints

Behavior isn’t one-size-fits-all. Input from across environments gives us a more accurate picture.

We explore early childhood, learning style, social development, sensory issues, and family dynamics.

We screen for a range of overlapping or alternative diagnoses that may be mimicking ADHD, including:

  • Autism Spectrum Disorder
  • Anxiety disorders and mood instability
  • Learning disabilities
  • Trauma-related responses
  • Executive function deficits without ADHD
  • Oppositional or behavioral disorders
